Pousada Barra Comfort

The stay itself was very cozy and close to the beach. Once the shift changed, reception improved, and one of the owners gave us full support. The place has the basics, but it felt like the willingness to help was missing at first. I'm writing this before even getting into the room. A broken shower or the odd missing item can happen at any accommodation, and as an agency we understand that. But check-in was at 2 pm, and at 4:30 the room was still being cleaned, two and a half hours after check-in time. That's unacceptable. Reception also seemed reluctant to work. We stood outside the guesthouse for about five minutes trying to reach someone, and when we spotted someone, I had to shout to get their attention.

The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the coffee was very good. The rooms are small, though, and there was no shampoo, not even to buy. The top sheet was only big enough for one, so two people couldn't both get covered, whoever falls asleep first wins. Breakfast varied: there was sweet cake on the first day, but the second day was all savory, with nothing sweet, not even anything for toast. There wasn't toast, though they did have a toaster and bread you could warm up, more suited to sandwiches. It’s close to a nice beach, but I wouldn't return.

I had a great stay. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was amazing, with a wildly comfortable, oversized mattress. Breakfast at the açaí place next to the hotel was spectacular. The location was just as good, and I even managed to have a bar de mar in the morning before checkout. I recommend it!

It felt peaceful, and the managers let guests feel very much at ease. Breakfast was pleasant and tasty.
