Real Classic Bahia Hotel

Only consider staying here if it’s cheap. Travel sites call it a four-star hotel, but it’s an old place with poor maintenance and a broken gym. Staff also struggled to check me in because of software problems. Breakfast was average, and the beach bar was noisy past midnight.

The comfortable beds, spacious rooms, sea views, in-room fridge, good shower pressure, and really nice pool were all highlights. The air conditioning only worked properly at night. During the day it blew air that was only a little cool. In the mornings, the pool area was pretty dirty, with rubbish and beer cans everywhere. It should be cleaned before breakfast. We left early on our last day and asked reception for a breakfast box. They said yes. We came down later to make sure it would be ready for our room before 6am, and they confirmed again. But when we checked out in the morning, there was no box. Breakfast had already been laid out, so we asked if we could quickly grab a few things since our taxi had arrived. The receptionist said no, we had to wait five minutes until 6am. What difference would that have made? He knew we had to leave. Could we really not take a couple of rolls? It left a bad taste as our last interaction with the hotel. And the hotel’s color is terrible. Who picked that? 😛

The restaurant was very good, and the staff were really nice. I attended a business event there, and the room worked well for about 40 people.

The showers had hot-water problems, and they weren’t able to fix them.
