The Hotel

The location is easily the best thing about this hotel. Breakfast was pretty good, the staff were excellent, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. The place has the feel of a three-star hotel, though I'd call it a small, higher-end two-star. There were a bunch of little issues: slightly dirty rooftop tables and chairs, hair inside the mini fridge, lots of fruit flies in the breakfast area, and a towel rack in my room that was nearly broken. None bothered me enough to ruin the stay, but they were noticeable. I'd consider booking again depending on the rates.

The staff are friendly and make a real effort when there's a language barrier. Rooms are simple, with a good bed, a clean shower, and dorm-style decor. It's a basic hotel in Salvador's Barra district. Locals advised against walking around at night, so the location was only useful to me during the day. There are no safes in the rooms or at reception, and Salvador is known for pickpockets, so keep that in mind.

It's a good hotel. I just had bad luck with some other guests who would talk loudly and make noise late at night.

The shower had dirt and hair in it, and there wasn't a bottle of water in the room. Check-in at 2am took an hour because the night auditor didn't know how to handle it. Worst hotel ever.
