My wife and I stayed at the inn for four nights. Its location really is a ten, with the beach, little market, grocery stores, bakery, and pharmacies all close by. I might stay there again, but I’d definitely bring insect repellent. The mosquitoes were everywhere at night, so it was nearly impossible to sit in the outdoor area. We had to keep the air conditioning on in the room to keep them away. That air conditioning was either freezing when it was on, even with the temperature adjusted, or unbearably hot with mosquitoes when it was off. Our room was right behind the kiosk, which serves snacks, appetizers, pastries, and similar food at night. That’s a nice option, but the noise made it almost impossible to sleep until it closed around midnight. It sounded like people were banging pots inside our room. The soundproofing was so poor we could hear everyone outside, regardless of the time or how loudly they spoke. Light came through the windows even with the curtains closed, so blackout curtains reaching the floor would help. The outlets were right at the head of the bed, so you could easily hit your head on a plugged-in charger. The light switches, fan controls, and room card slot were also inconveniently far apart. Breakfast was very basic, though not bad. It had boiled eggs, bread, coffee, milk, cold cuts, some fruit, and cake. We missed having something local from the Northeast, like tapioca. The pool water was cloudy and needed cleaning. I only went in once during our four days, because I never saw it get cleaned and felt a bit disgusted. The bathroom had plenty of space, but the toilet seat was broken and the shower only worked on the summer setting, with lukewarm water. It wouldn’t work for anyone who likes a hotter shower.

The beds and air conditioning were great, and both the pool and parking were fine. The inn is in a prime spot opposite the square at the cross and caminho de Moises, with lovely beaches and good facilities nearby. There’s also a kiosk that serves tasty snacks, appetizers, and drinks at reasonable prices in the evening. Breakfast was excellent and had lots of variety. The suites are small, though, and the bathroom didn’t have a shower screen, so water got everywhere.
I stayed with my parents and my little dog at the beginning of March/2026. We really enjoyed the experience and are grateful for it. The inn was wonderful, clean, and smelled fresh. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were always attentive and very friendly.
The evening snacks and pasta are handy, and they cost less. Breakfast has a bit of everything, including vegetarian options. The inn feels cozy and family-friendly, with a peaceful atmosphere that’s great for resting. The staff are all so polite and attentive, and the location is just right if you want to be near caminho de moisés. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
What made the stay for me was the people at Pousada Luar. The owners and the whole team were kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. I felt at home, and it’s hard to put into words how professional and dedicated everyone was. My triple room was spacious and cozy, too, and both the cleaning and breakfast were excellent.
