Praia Sol Hotel

For a night or two, this hotel might work well. Our week there was disappointing, though. The restaurant lunch was very good and reasonably priced, and breakfast was good at first, but the menu stayed the same and got tiresome after a few days. The room had an odd smell, so we left the balcony door open while we were out. We had two glasses, and staff refused to wash them or bring clean ones for the whole week, saying the cleaners weren't allowed to. Housekeeping was inconsistent: we went three days without soap, the bathroom wasn't cleaned one day, and on another day the room wasn't cleaned until 8 or 9 pm. We were on our honeymoon, but the romantic package I requested never arrived. There were three little bags of bubble bath for the tub, which may have been what they meant. The booking site also promised a dressing room, but there was only a mirror. It listed an outlet by the bed, yet the room had just one outlet, as far from the bed as possible. Drinking water and chocolate were in the suite, but we had to pay extra for them. There was no airport shuttle, despite the listing. They called a taxi a shuttle. They didn't answer any emails or the message I sent with the booking, so we had to call. Check-in was the least friendly I've experienced.

The staff were so nice and always ready to help, and breakfast was excellent. The pool is huge and spacious. It's about 20 km from Foz, and for the price, the value here is hard to beat. I really liked the Hotel and would definitely come back. Muito brigado for having us Hotel Praia Sol 😁

The hotel itself is okay, and so are the breakfast and facilities. But our room faced the highway and was too noisy. It's also much farther from Foz and the tourist spots than the hotel's 15-minute estimate suggests. No taxi or Uber would pick us up or take us back, even from the airport. I'd only stay here if coming by car or renting one.

The rooms were clean and organized, and breakfast was plentiful. It's a comfortable hotel with attentive staff. My only complaint is that the road facing bedrooms are noisy.
