Chácara Bora Bora

Top-notch.

The kitchen was always clean and tidy, and the location made getting around easy. Everything was within walking distance, including the center and main square. The room is small but works well for a couple. I wish it had a mini fridge and a wardrobe for clothes. The bathroom also needs a raised section to keep the whole floor from getting wet after a shower. The towels and sheets are hung up indoors to dry, and the damp smell can make them seem dirty. They don’t have that fresh, sun-dried smell.

We rode in to visit the Rota Biker monument without a reservation, and Rafael was great. He quickly found us a place to rest. The bed linens and towels were clean and smelled lovely, and the shower was just right. We had everything we needed for a good night’s sleep. It’s right in the center, close to everything. We had a great stay.

I hated my experience. The rooms were fine, but the shower was broken, and several things about the place felt strange. The owner told my father he knew what he’d said about the guesthouse and would refund him because he didn’t want him there anymore. After that, he moved my family and me to another room because of the shower, but said only two people could stay in each room. There were four of us, and the room could clearly fit four beds. It felt especially odd because the owner knew what my father had said, and seemed to be watching us. Then it seemed to click for him, and he kicked us out. My father told him, “You should treat your customers better.” The man tried to open our car door, so my father drove off. About 30 minutes later, the man appeared in his car and tried to block us on the road while we were still in town. We sped away. After following us for about five minutes, he stopped, but we’d ended up outside town and thought he might still be after us. We eventually went back, stopped in a neighborhood, and called the police. We filed a police report against the guesthouse owner and then spent the night in another town.
