We were in town already, but stayed at the hotel because our house was being painted and was full of sanding dust. I went with my husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and our 11-month-old baby. The reception looked spacious and nicely decorated, though the name had made me expect a themed hotel, and it had nothing to do with that. The room also seemed roomy and cozy at first. Then I moved the double bed against the single one so our daughter wouldn't fall, and found a filthy mess underneath. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months, and there was even an earring in the dirt. I called reception around 21:00 and was told no cleaning staff were there. I asked for a cloth so I could clean it myself, since there was no way I could put the baby's crib in that mess after leaving home because of paint dust. The receptionist was very polite and came up quickly with the housekeeper's cart. He wiped the floor with disinfectant himself. He said it would have been cleaner if the housekeeper were there, but he'd done what he could. I appreciated the effort, especially since cleaning wasn't his job. The shower was poor, with water spraying everywhere except onto my head. The bathroom smelled like sewage, and there was no hair dryer. The air conditioning wouldn't cool either. My husband checked the filter and found it so dirty that air couldn't get through. We were exhausted and didn't want to bother the receptionist again, so my husband took it out and washed it in the shower. After that, the air started cooling. At breakfast I asked the woman replenishing the food for water. She barely looked at me and went into the kitchen. When she came back without it, I asked again. She rudely said she didn't sell water and I had to get it at reception. I said we'd ordered water at dinner, and she just replied, "At dinner it's different." Apart from her, everyone we dealt with was polite and helpful, despite the awful stay. The place seems abandoned, with no management. The room rate felt steep for what was offered: no pool, games room, or leisure area, just a tiny, dark gym. A terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend it or come back.

There was no clear notice at booking or before the event that these fees would be charged, and that led to unnecessary embarrassment and hassle. The hotel charged the makeup artists, who were only there to provide a service, an unreasonable 900 reais, and also charged for a parking space. Charging working professionals this way shows a lack of good judgment and respect. A warning to other guests and professionals: check every fee in advance. I hope the hotel reviews this policy, since it harms the experience and the hotel's image.

During Christmas week, I was discriminated against again by an afternoon valet. He said I wasn't disabled enough to use the disabled parking spot, even though I am PCD and have all the documents and medical reports to prove it. I showed them to him. On a previous stay, I had already faced prejudice from a valet. That week, my room also went uncleaned for two days, and later a kitchen employee threatened me during breakfast. I had to call a police car and change hotels because of the threat. I couldn't speak with a manager in any of these situations. The manager wasn't there, and I couldn't get his phone number. Even the police officer asked about the manager, and the receptionist said he wasn't there. The hotel needs qualified staff who treat people well regardless of race, color, gender, or physical condition. My wife and I felt deeply offended and disrespected. This was complete disregard for a guest who is PCD.

The background music was a nice extra, and the breakfast was exceptional. The location is excellent, and the staff treated us with real warmth. Both the rooms and bathrooms were in excellent hygienic condition.

The location was very good and seemed safe during my stay, and there's a Japanese restaurant right next door. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and everyone provided attentive, polite service. Breakfast had lots of different options and it was all tasty. This is the best hotel I've stayed at so far. I'd recommend it and will definitely return.
