Hyatt Place Sao Jose do Rio Preto

The staff made the stay especially nice, from the maitre D to the bartender, who were both great. The hotel was clean and had all the amenities you'd expect. I had a really nice stay.

It's right in front of one of the best malls in the region, which made it a convenient place to stay. The breakfast was awesome, the Wi-Fi was very good, and I really liked the hotel.

I stayed 11 nights, from 28th March till 8th of April, and had a wonderful experience with the staff. Luis, Laura, Priscila, and Henrique all helped make me comfortable. Thais deserves special thanks. She was incredibly patient and seemed to know every place to eat and go out in the city, which was a huge help on my first trip to Brazil. When I had medical problems for two days and needed to stay in my room, the staff made everything easy and helped me feel welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the infinity pool on the roof, just 10 steps from my room. But on my last weekend, the pool area left me disgusted. The rules there include no bottles, smoking, or loud music. Most mornings I enjoyed a swim, but on a couple of occasions guests treated it like their own party space. That weekend, one guest brought 6-7 friends who weren't staying at the hotel after partying the night before. They drank around the pool all day, left Red Bull cans and other things lying around, and cigarette butts on the floor. They smoked joints without regard for other people, including families with children. I wouldn't want a child with me to see that. I complained to management and was even more shocked to hear they knew this guest sometimes stayed there and did this occasionally, and were looking for a solution. How can a hotel like Hyatt allow drug and alcohol use around other guests and families? How can one guest be allowed to act as if he owns the place, especially when management knows this happens regularly? It's a shame that this one problem overshadowed the work of the lovely kitchen, housekeeping, and reception teams. I plan to return at the end of the year for 17 nights or more. I hope this doesn't happen again. If it does, I'll check out right away and make sure other guests hear about it before coming. I don't mean to be rude, but I didn't expect management from Hyatt to act this way. Best regards, Adnan Crnkic

I stayed just one night and liked it a lot. The staff were friendly, and the room was spacious, nicely decorated, and packed with amenities, unlike other business hotels I've tried in the same city. I'd recommend it to a friend.
