Mercure Sao Jose Dos Campos Hotel

There was just one free bottle of water, one robe, and one pair of sleepers, even though the reservation was for two people. I did the web check-in to make things faster, after providing all the information during the reservation. When I arrived, I still had to show all my documents and confirm everything again. The system or the clerk was slow, so check-in took too long.

Breakfast and lunch were decent, but the stay had a lot of problems. The bed was super hard, and I was given a downgraded room without any reimbursement. The front desk staff spoke limited English and I speak limited Portuguese, so they more or less dismissed the issue. The TV didn't work. The power went out multiple times and stayed off, and when we came back from dinner the elevators were dead. Our rooms were on the 10th and 11th floors.

The price was good for what you get, and breakfast was okay with a good range of choices. Reception staff were friendly and spoke English. The rooms were average and a bit dated, especially the bathroom. The air conditioning worked well, but there was none in the hallways. The desk was small.

The people at the front desk were incredibly nice and happy to help with anything. One of them even gave us a really good tip for a trip. I had a very good experience overall. My only complaint is that the lobby doesn't match the bedrooms. They seem to have put a lot into making the lobby look modern and attractive, while the bedrooms seem to have been forgotten during the remodel.
