The location is good, and the staff were friendly, but several basics made this stay disappointing. The fridge was switched off and empty, and the small self-service market had little in it, so there was nowhere to chill drinks even if I bought some. There’s no breakfast or room service. The Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable, and the shower never got properly hot. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this place gave me plenty of reasons.
10/10
I walked around alone at night and felt safe in the area. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, from pizza and steak to Italian food, and a brewery is only a few blocks away. I also found a nearby market where I could pick up water and coffee to bring back to my room.
10/10
The neighborhood was one of the best parts, with restaurants and shopping close by in São José. I stayed for two months, and my room was spacious and consistently clean. The staff were also really friendly, and the service was great 😀
8/10
The massage we arranged through the hotel cost $R100 an hour, but it wasn’t worth it. The room itself was fantastic, with a spa bath and sauna in the Mondrian suite, and it cost $R380. Staff were friendly, quick to respond, and accommodating, and breakfast was generous. A few things could be better: the rose petals in the romance package were artificial, drinking water cost extra, and the soap, shampoo, and conditioner could be better quality.
10/10
Really good value, with excellent prices. The hotel was very clean and in a great spot!
