Room 470 was comfortable and clean. The shower door wouldn't shut properly, though, so the bathroom floor ended up soaked after each shower. I had to ask the cleaning lady for extra bath mats. The TV colors were also badly distorted, probably because of a hardware issue.

Ms. MILY at reception was especially warm and welcoming, and she speaks English and translated Portuguese for me. The hospitality from everyone, including housekeeping and the breakfast restaurant staff, was great. I really like this place and think it's the best place to stay in Sao Jose.

Mily was a great help during my stay at Ibis, and I had a wonderful time there. Five stars for her efforts. I'll definitely come back.
4/10
The staff at reception were polite and helpful, and both the breakfast and its hours worked well for business travel. But the room was very small, with poor lighting, no face towel and no mini fridge. The drywall walls did little to block sound, so I could hear everything from nearby rooms, if you know what I mean. In my view, IBIS has cut a lot of services without adjusting the price to match.
10/10
This was my third stay, and I highly recommend the hotel. It's quiet and feels safe, and the windows close well to keep noise out, which is a luxury in Brazil, though they don't open very far. The hotel is close to the airport and easy to reach, with plenty of free parking. Breakfast costs extra, but it's good. The rooms are small, with comfortable beds, modern showers and A/C, which is useful for heating in Brazil since Curitiba gets very cold in winter.
