Hotel Elite

Great place.

I’m from Rio de Janeiro and stayed for two days. It felt cozy, I loved the reception, and breakfast was wonderful. I really want to come back ❤️

The hotel felt old and completely neglected. I’m convinced someone stole a bag with an earring and necklace from me. I left it on the bedside table and spent a whole day searching. Before going out on an excursion, I’d nearly put the jewelry on. The room wasn’t what we’d been promised either. It was meant for me, my husband, and our three-year-old, but the extra bed they had offered when we booked wasn’t there. The carpet was dusty, there were blood stains on the bedroom door, and the bathroom had several problems and a bad smell from the drain. When towels were changed, the attendant kept forgetting to leave replacements. If we ran out of toilet paper, we had to ask at reception, and it still wouldn’t arrive until the next day, so we had to ask again. The beds were like bricks, and underneath the mattress there was lots of dust and cobwebs. The bedroom doors opened with the slightest push. I locked ours before an outing, but when I got back, it was open. The window latch was jammed and wouldn’t lock, so I spent seven nights awake. My son could reach the window, and twice in the morning I caught him opening it. I couldn’t sleep after that, afraid he might fall. The rooms offered to parents with children had no window nets. Most of the reception staff didn’t speak to us. João was the exception, and he was very hospitable. I quite liked breakfast, with fruit and plenty of breads and cakes, but one morning I found a moldy roll. Anyone frightened of horror movies should stay away. The place felt haunted. I hate having to leave this review, but I don’t want other people to be misled the way I was. The city has plenty of hotels and guesthouses, so check the reviews before booking.

The service from the person described as the hotel’s owner, who seemed to be its only employee, was awful and unfriendly. The building is old and poorly maintained, and the doors and windows didn’t feel secure when shut. There was mold in the room, broken furniture, and bedding that looked dirty and was in bad shape. The bathroom had inadequate facilities and a faulty flush. This hotel isn’t fit to receive guests.
