Akile Central Park

The host was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The view from apartment #2506 on the 25th floor was nice, and the location worked for my plans in the city. Still, the apartment wasn’t clean or tidy. The linens and towels had a strange smell, and there was a musty odor between the kitchen and bathroom. An unidentified vibrating, phone-like noise woke me a couple of times in the early morning, and at first I thought it was my own cell phone. The stay was okay until the landlord came into the apartment without my permission, saying it was to install a new shower drain. The maintenance issues had a significant impact on the experience, and the apartment needs general upkeep.

Entry and exit are monitored with facial recognition or a QR code. The building also has OMO’s shared laundry and an autonomous mini market. The location is excellent and felt safe, with a 24-hour front desk. There’s a bakery and market nearby, as well as Parque Augusta. If you’re up for the walk and the weather cooperates, Shopping Frei Caneca is reachable on foot and is wonderful.

The building’s front desk felt a little odd, maybe somewhat brusque, but it wasn’t a big deal. I spent 5 days in an Airbnb here, and the location was great, with easy access to several places in the area.

The apartments are great, but the entry system is awful if you want to come and go freely. The front desk staff do their best, but the facial scan through the Fastpass system never works. Usually eight people end up trying a QR code that also doesn’t work, with a line forming outside the building.
