The people downstairs have been helpful, but the property’s maintenance is really lacking. We’re in the larger “Superior” room, #1304, on the 13th floor, and there are lots of problems. The bathroom door handle and shower head are broken. The sink in the bedroom/kitchen area sprays water all over, and the shower towel holder and toilet paper holder are both badly installed, with loose screws. The shower door is fitted backwards, so water gets through the gaps and all over the floor. The entry floor also looks warped from an earlier flood. When we arrived, the smart locks were tricky to use and lock you out after a few wrong tries. I eventually figured out I had to touch just above the handle, not the middle, to light up the numbers, then enter the code from the reception desk’s Whatsapp message. One elevator was broken during the Sao Silvestre 100 year commemorative race, leaving only two in service. With the cramped elevators and all the tourists and runners staying here before New Years Eve, we had long waits. It’s especially awful coming back with your hands full of drinks. The ad on booking.com said breakfast at the acclaimed restaurant downstairs was included, but after we paid they said it wasn’t. We paid more than we should have for a substandard room, and the breakfast issue upset us most. Apart from all that, it’s been okay.

The building is brutalist, the location is great, and the staff are great, but that’s about where the positives end. The rooms are really cheap for the money. There’s no insulation from noise or heat. I was on the second floor facing the street and felt like I was sleeping at the traffic lights. The noise was far too heavy, and the heat from those windows was terrible. The pillows were another problem, cheap and awful, very uncomfortable. I woke up with my neck nearly broken.

DO NOT BOOK, AVOID! We had arranged ahead of our check-in date to store our luggage, and three different colleagues confirmed it through WhatsApp, Booking.com, and in person. But after our bags had been there for only two hours, the assistant manager decided we couldn’t leave them until check-in. Without telling us, she took them out of the lockers 20 minutes before we were due to leave for the airport and left them on the floor in the busy reception area. We had nowhere to keep them. She was extremely rude and caused huge stress and unnecessary problems, nearly making us miss our flight. The lack of empathy and the blatant lies were atrocious. We cancelled our booking immediately and won’t return. Stay clear of this hotel.

A clean, well-equipped place in the middle of Sao Paulo’s financial center, with good breakfast. The pans they provide aren’t compatible with the induction stoves in every room. Do they know anything about iron casting pans?

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. We were told we could leave our bags through WhatsApp and in a reply to our question on booking.com, as the screenshots show. Then, when we arrived, the assistant manager said she hadn’t approved it and made a huge problem for us. Her behavior and approach were appalling, and the staff treated us terribly. It amazes me that she works in hospitality. They’ll lie to get you to book, then change their mind when you arrive. For your own sanity and peace of mind, avoid this hotel.
