Bistu Hotel - Vila Nova Conceição

The room was hard to rest in: the air conditioning was extremely loud, and noise from the nearby auto repair shop woke us early. The bathroom sink had no hot water, and the towels were old and worn. Breakfast was poor quality with very few choices, nowhere near what I'd expect from a hotel. The property was dirty throughout, and the rooftop was covered with dust and debris because it was under construction. The online photos don't match the place at all. This is a hostel, not a hotel, and one of the worst places I've stayed. I'd tell people to look elsewhere because it's not worth the time or money.

Renan met me at midnight for a late check-in after my long bus ride from Rio, since my Airbnb let me down at the last minute. He showed me everything, including the wifi and breakfast times. The next morning, even though I don't speak Portuguese, Myrelle was so helpful and kept going out of her way to assist me. I stayed longer than I expected and added three more days because of those two. They're a real credit to the business, and I'd stay here again if I'm in the area. Thanks for everything! 5*****

Rodrigó at reception, who is Argentinian, seemed very upset when I asked about breakfast. He asked where I'd seen that it was included, so after my surgery I had to go back to my room and get my phone to show him a screenshot of their website listing, which clearly said breakfast was included. His attitude was awful, and he looked unhappy to be serving guests. A very bad experience. I don't recommend this place.

The owners, Bruno and Diego, are around if you have any concerns, and the staff are responsive and friendly. The rooms are new, cozy, and very clean. It's practical for business trips, and the price is much lower than other places in the area. I definitely recommend it!
