The check-in process was such a mess. I had to search Google to find a hotel contact, and only after a long wait did someone send me a check-in link. It asks for smiling photos, a serious photo, an ID, and other things. Why is all that necessary? Wouldn’t it be easier to have a receptionist check guests in? This kind of check-in problem can ruin anyone’s trip.

Even though Booking had confirmed my reservation, the front desk had no record of my stay and wouldn’t let me in. I spent over 30 minutes waiting outside on the street, feeling exposed and unsafe in a city like São Paulo, which is known for security risks. I tried to sort it out on my phone, but the accommodation never replied on WhatsApp. It was chaotic and completely disorganized, with no consideration for the guest. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The studio itself is great, but Charlie’s property management and handling of reservations and guest access were really poor. I registered the second guest when I booked, then had to do it twice more, once on the day before arrival. At 10 p.m., after a long day of work, we were left outside the building for about 40 minutes while we redid the registration. I also needed early entry and received an email saying access would be available at 12, but that didn’t happen, so we had to reorganize the whole day. The studio is lovely, but the management fell far short.

It’s a small flat in a good location, but there’s no service in the building. The work table is on the balcony, and when it’s cold you can’t really sit out there to work.

A great stay in a modern, new, clean place.
