Esplanada Hotel

Clean and affordable, and a good hotel. I'd recommend it.

The room was so clean, and the staff gave excellent service. Esplanada Hotel has all of that, and there's a wonderful bakery called Alteza right beside it. Thanks to the team who handled my reservation and to the hotel staff. See you soon!

I felt let down by my stay at Hotel República in São Paulo. The hotel itself was reasonable, but its location in the heart of Cracolândia was a major concern. There are many people struggling with drug addiction in the surrounding area, and I felt unsafe coming and going, especially at night. The hotel management should give serious thought to guest safety and perhaps reconsider the location. Unfortunately, because of the worrying surroundings, I can't recommend this hotel.

The location is great, though walking around calls for extra care, with the kinds of risks you find in any big city. This was my first stay, and I'll definitely come back soon. For a fair nightly price, I got a simple but very organized and clean hotel. My standard double room was spacious, with a soft bed, powerful air conditioning, a new mini-fridge, and an excellent TV. The only small drawback was the shower, which doesn't get very hot, but it didn't spoil my stay. The gentlemen at reception were very friendly, and the housekeeper was kind.
