The historic building is well maintained and sits in central São Paulo. I learned it used to be a hotel after wondering about the small apartments, which made sense for the time it was built. It's residential now, though temporary rentals are available. Staying here works well if you want to explore bits of downtown. Watch the time, and you can walk to the Museum of the Portuguese Language, Pinacoteca, Rock Gallery, Sesc 24 de Maio, Vale do Anhangabau, Farol Santander, CCBB, Catedral da Sé, 25 de Março, Pátio do Colégio, São Bento Monastery, Praça das Artes, the Post Office Building, and Municipal Theater. The Santa Efigênia church is next door, so you can also shop for electronics and lighting. There are plenty of other places to see, along with bars and restaurants downtown that have their own history.

A charming, iconic building from 1930, right in downtown sp!

The central location makes it a good base for exploring downtown, as long as you keep an eye on the time. You can walk to the Museum of the Portuguese Language, Pinacoteca, Galeria do Rock, Sesc 24 de Maio, Vale do Anhangabau, Farol Santander, CCBB, Catedral da Sé, 25 de Março, Pátio do Colégio, Mosteiro São Bento, Praça das Artes, Prédio dos Correios, and Teatro Municipal. The church of Santa Efigênia is right next door, with electronics and lighting shops nearby, among many other places. There are also downtown bars and restaurants with a lot of history. The building is historic and well kept, and I got curious about its small apartments, since they were built for that era, and found out it used to be a hotel. It's residential these days, but you can still stay in a temporary rental. Worth seeing.

A cute, beautiful building in downtown SP, and very instagrammable. There are plenty of police around the area, but since it's downtown, it's still a good idea to stay alert.

A historic building with lots of cute, affordable Airbnbs.
