What upset me most was how the front desk handled the problem. The first clerk basically said I was late and that was that, until I pushed back repeatedly. Only then did he offer a twin room or a handicapped room. When I arrived, another clerk claimed my reservation had never been canceled, even though the Hilton app clearly showed “canceled,” which is why I called after landing. They did eventually find me a room, apparently after we got off the phone, and the hotel itself is fine. But I’d called earlier on check-in day to say my late flight meant I wouldn’t arrive until 2-3 a.m. Being told they’d marked me a no-show and sold the room was incredibly stressful. Landing in another country in the middle of the night and suddenly having nowhere to stay is not okay. I’ve never had this happen at any other Hilton, even when I didn’t call ahead about arriving late. When a hotel oversells and it’s the hotel’s mistake, it should arrange a room at an equivalent nearby hotel and transportation, and often offer points or a voucher for the trouble. That first clerk’s response was not how you treat a guest. I’ll stay at the nearby Marriott next time.

The welcome was a real letdown. Our group of 80 arrived at 10 p.m. after a long trip, and the reception experience needs to improve if you want guests to feel looked after. We’d paid for a triple room, but on the first night got a regular double with a small third bed, as shown in the attached pictures. Our company stepped in promptly, and the bed was changed for the second night, though the bad impression stayed with us. The location itself is okay, in a newer business area. For a downtown visit, though, I’d definitely use Uber to feel safe.

A great base for business, right by the World Trade Center in the middle of the business district. My room was a good size, with plenty of outlets in useful spots. Lucian at check-in was welcoming, pleasant, and efficient, and the concierge knew the neighborhood restaurants well and gave me excellent suggestions.

The upgrade to the executive floor came with a lovely view of the bridge, and the lobby has a grand feel. The hotel sits above a mall, so restaurants, a food court, currency exchange, and convenience stores are easy to get to. My room was spacious and the bathroom very clean, though the room could use a bit of a facelift. A good stay overall.
