We ended up here at 3 a.m. because a friend was feeling unwell. For a room for three, it was 120 reais for the night, and it’s close to the bus station, so it worked for a cheap stop. The room wasn’t especially clean and the Wi-Fi didn’t work, but the two guys on duty that night were really kind and helpful. The street has lots of sex workers, which could be a plus if that’s what you’re after.

After waiting four hours to check in with no result, I gave up and left.

This is a very basic hotel, and the old air conditioner, uncomfortable pillows and blankets, and dirty room made the stay rough. We’d been told the room would be cleaned, but when we got in it was filthy and almost impossible to breathe in. There wasn’t even a liner in the trash can, so I had to put one in myself. The breakfast area had no lock, and I barely slept worrying something might happen. They need to improve the cleaning and treat their own staff, including coworkers, better.
