Hotel Macuco

Wow!

I arrived in the early hours, well before check-in, and they promptly found me a room. Vitor and Helen were always so friendly and helpful, and my room was exceptionally clean. I loved the facilities and had no problems at all. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices, and the location felt safe, with shops and transport nearby. It was excellent value. I’ll be back and have already recommended it to friends.

The service was very good, it’s easy to get to, and I stayed in room 206. Parking across the street was a real help, and they even washed my car. They provided a comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, and soap, and lent me a hair dryer and an iron. The room itself was good, but the curtain had no blackout lining, so light came in from outside and the corridor. The air conditioner was so noisy that we chose to sleep in the heat. The small bathroom has no shower enclosure, so water gets everywhere, and there’s no full-length mirror. The only mirror is high up in the bathroom.

Elen at reception deserves a special mention. She was excellent, approachable, attentive, and quick to solve things. The sheets and towels were clean and smelled fresh, and the room was tidied every day. It’s a peaceful, safe place with lots of shops around, a bakery on the corner, and a mall across the street. That worked well for my nearby work or event. Breakfast was very good, with fresh, tasty items. I loved staying here and will definitely return.
