Our flight was cancelled because of a heavy storm, so we stayed at Ibis Budget SP Centro São João on December 12. Dora, the evening shift receptionist, was incredible and helped us with everything, even though her English was limited. She made a stressful situation much easier. Her kindness, professionalism and dedication deserve recognition. Thank you, Dora, and congratulations to the hotel for having such a wonderful team member. Highly recommended!

We accidentally left our handbag in the restaurant, and the staff kept it safe for us overnight. Our passports and money were still there. We’re very grateful for their honesty and help. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Thank you.

The rooms are quite spacious for the price, the beds are pretty comfortable, and the location is really good. Still, it feels very much like a budget stay. You don’t even get shampoo, though they’ll sell it for an inflated price in the lobby.

4/10
The neighborhood around the hotel feels scary, and the staff were rude. Check-in meant queuing for at least 45 minutes.

8/10
The reception staff often came across as detached and only seemed warm when it was time to pay. A more consistently kind and understanding approach would have made a difference. That put a bit of a shadow over an otherwise promising stay, with well-appointed facilities and thoughtful amenities in an enviable location that connects easily to the city center.
