ibis Sao Paulo Tatuape

The staff were so friendly, patient, and helpful, and the coffee was delicious. There's a fridge in the room but no coffee maker. The room was clean and comfortable, with no bugs or anything unpleasant. The lobby has games and activities, including table tennis and foosball. We'd stay here again.

Mateus and Romilda at the front desk went out of their way to make my children and me comfortable when we arrived in the middle of the night. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The rooms were a bit small, but manageable. We'll definitely visit again.

The rooms were fine and the food was okay, but there were other problems. The fridge was too loud at night, and the windows did little to block noise from the nearby train and traffic. Our door cards stopped working several times even after being reprogrammed. We were told the lock batteries were empty. The most serious issue was the dining room TV, which showed excerpts from the old horror and vampire movie Nosferatu, along with naked adults. I disliked the programming, but could have accepted it for myself. We had our 6 and 9 year old kids with us, and they shouldn't have been exposed to that at a hotel. Since we got back, our 6 year old son has had severe nightmares and keeps referring to what he saw there. At checkout we told the staff member about the non-child-friendly programme being shown on rotation, but he didn't seem to understand how serious it was for children.

Ibis is usually a decent-quality hotel wherever you go, but this one had some of the least helpful and unhappiest staff I've seen in a while. They weren't exactly rude, but the atmosphere felt unfriendly, and they seemed easily annoyed by customers.
