The hotel itself is superb, with comfortable beds, nice showers, and gentle staff. The problem is the cost of meals, which is exorbitant by Sao Paulo standards, from breakfast to snacks and bottled water. For food nearby, there's only one barbecue restaurant within walking distance, and it's very expensive too. The location makes it easy to get around, but shops and other restaurants, drugstores, and similar facilities are far away.

There wasn't any yogurt during the two days I stayed, and breakfast didn't have even basic fruits. In Brazil, pineapple, bananas, papaya, and mango are basic fruits and available anytime. Those were the minimum I expected.

The room was clean and definitely quiet, though the ibis-style rooms aren't the best compared with other competitors. Special mention to the lovely people at reception!

The rooms were nice, clean, and very comfortable, though maybe I felt that way because I was exhausted after waiting at the airport and hotel. GOL cancelled the flight from Florianópolis to Rio de Janeiro, so passengers got hotel vouchers for nearby hotels. Barra Funda is 20 minutes from the hotel outside peak hours. Check-in took 40 minutes in line, with about 8 people waiting and 3 staff at the front desk. We also had vouchers for a late meal, but had to queue again, this time with just one staff member for around 7 or more people. Make a reservation for your taxi, Uber, or other ride back to the airport at least 2 hours ahead, or you may not make your flight.
