Mercure São Paulo Grand Plaza Paulista

After a 24-hour flight, I asked for an early check-in three hours ahead and was told I had to pay for a full day. The staff’s attitude was deplorable, and they were unhelpful. Breakfast was terrible too, with dried, stale eggs and raw fruit. Worst hotel experience ever. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, avoid it.

The staff are delightful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The internet doesn’t work in the rooms, the TVs don’t work, and there’s nowhere to work in the suites if you need internet. Breakfast was close to inedible, and the gym and sauna felt tired and disappointing. No robes, and the towels were threadbare.

The employees are very kind, but that doesn’t make up for how old the hotel and its facilities are. My room smelled awful, like sewage mixed with mold, and had almost no outlets. They also required payment in advance at check-in but didn’t have a working process for giving a receipt. I had to keep insisting to get any kind of receipt. It was my first and last time here. I won’t recommend it or stay again.

From check-in through departure, the experience was terrible. My credit card was charged twice, water dripped from the ceiling in my room, booking the sauna was a problem, the door card didn’t work, and the ironing desk was dirty. Breakfast was basic. This is the worst Mercure I’ve stayed at.
