Getting in took us 40 minutes, and another guest who spoke Portuguese had to help. Without her, who knows how long it would've taken. For facial recognition, they want a good selfie against a white background, and they also ask you to send a passport photo ahead of time. The only way to send it is through WhatsApp or email, which didn't feel secure to me. Our cubicle was dirty, including the floor and shelves. The cubicles are tiny and don't have much equipment, really only enough for one person, even though the listing said one to two people. The shower was scalding, and we couldn't figure out how to adjust it.

The rooftop was a great spot to take in one of São Paulo's best neighbourhoods. The place was amazing, the room was clean, and it felt very secure. I'd recommend it.

The location is great, the accommodation itself is good, the shower was great, and the air conditioning worked, though being inside a cupboard made it ineffective. The TV is huge, but without a subscription to a streaming platform it won't even pick up regular channels. The bigger issue was how the place was run. There was nobody on site to help, just a rotating group of remote attendants on the intercom at a company in Rio de Janeiro. One person would answer, then someone else minutes later, and it seemed like nothing was passed along. Problems meant being told to call the person in charge while I waited outside, and that happened many times. After ten days I realized they didn't know how to fix things because no information reached them. The person in charge, Mayara, cancelled my reservation while I was already staying there. Things got worse after that. She messaged me mainly to demand payment, even though I'd paid through Booking. I had to sort it out with the platform, and managed to do so on Wednesday. I told her on WhatsApp, but by Sunday she still hadn't even seen the message, despite my asking the attendants to pass it on. One night a server issue left me locked out for an hour. The intercom wasn't working, and it's the only way to get in if you don't have facial recognition. I'd asked many times to get facial recognition set up, but only Mayara could do it, and she never did, either before cancelling or afterward without telling me. I called the central line and asked for someone who could help with the face recognition. They only responded after I said I was calling the police. This wasn't just my problem. I was staying by the intercom at 2 a.m. when another guest arrived. He'd sent in everything they asked for, but he was locked out too. A guest before me had made the same complaint, so it happens often. There was a lot of brush on the neighboring lot, which seemed to attract endless mosquitoes. The outside door opens if you just push it with a little force, leaving you vulnerable when you're out. Inside, there's a chain lock. Cleaning was another problem. One day someone entered my apartment without me asking and changed the sheets and towels, but didn't sweep or take out the trash. The bins stayed exactly the same for all ten days, including a recycling bag left in the same spot the whole time.

The location was good, the place felt secure, the internet worked well, and there were laundry and dryer facilities. The broken shower and the air conditioning, which didn't work properly until the fourth day, were problems. There was no cleaning in the place or the rooms. You'd see dirty rooms left open for days, and no cleaner on site. Getting in and out was the biggest headache. Some of the attendants, including the guys and Juliana, were nice. The other women were less so, though I came to understand their bad moods and frustration. It can't be easy for them. I got used to being questioned at the entrance, but on my last morning I went out to buy something and came back for my bags. Nayara said I wasn't registered as a guest and wouldn't let me in. I showed her my key and explained I'd been staying there for days and needed my bags and phone inside. Only after I lost my temper and said I'd call the police did she hang up. Juliana then let me in. That was the last straw, and I probably wouldn't have written so much if it hadn't happened. Before leaving, I even left the room clean and organized because I believe what you do for others comes back to you. I wanted to leave something good behind despite everything. The place has potential, but needs urgent fixes. I hope they improve it, because it could be good.

The entry system was invasive and badly managed. They require facial biometrics, a CPF, and an image of your face, without any clear assurance about security. My biometrics weren't registered properly, and I was stuck there for two days. A complete mess. The room was tiny and clearly unsuitable for two people, though they sell it as a double. When we arrived, check-in wasn't finished, the room was dirty and still had the previous guest's mess, and the person in charge wouldn't answer our messages. We had to move ourselves into another room and hope it was clean. It had no kitchen utensils or proper blankets for São Paulo's cold weather, so we had to take used blankets, cutlery, plates, and pans from other rooms, as if we were trespassing. The kitchen was chaotic, with no trash can and broken equipment, including an exhaust fan that didn't work. The TV remote was unusable because the batteries had burst inside it. The sofa looked visibly dirty, as if it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks. During our stay we saw other rooms abandoned, dirty, and apparently forgotten too. From the moment we arrived, Mora Rocks seemed completely unprepared to host people. The place felt cold and dehumanizing, like it was only there to take your money, with no care for comfort or well-being. The whole experience was disorganized, neglectful, disrespectful, and abusive. It wasn't worth a cent of the price. On top of the money, we paid in stress, frustration, and feeling abandoned. Stay away from Mora Rocks. It's a trap.
