I'm still waiting in line as I write this, and I haven't even seen the hotel yet. The service has been awful: I spent 10 minutes at the self-check-in station, which didn't work. Checking in with the QR code worked, but I still had to wait over 40 minutes in line for my room key. This shouldn't happen at a 4-star hotel. I may update this after I've seen the rest of the hotel.

Rafael at reception was so friendly and helped us with everything. He gave us good tips on places to visit and where to exchange money, and let us check out late because we had a late flight.

I stayed one night and the food was disgusting. I ordered an omelette to my room and found a long black hair in it. Later, I used a meal voucher at the restaurant and ordered the recommended cheeseburger. The meat tasted spoiled, but I ate some because I was starving. I got food poisoning and was sick through my 8 hr flight the next day. A horrible experience. Do not eat at this hotel.

The room looked dated and could use some care. The lobby is beautiful, so I wish the rooms had been renovated to the same standard. Still, I booked for the view and got exactly that. The room was clean and the bed was soft, which is enough for me since I only stay in a hotel room, I don't live there. The receptionist gave me a warm welcome, upgraded my room, and shared useful tips about the Brazilian language I could use around the city. She was knowledgeable and service-minded. As a foreigner who doesn't speak Portuguese, I don't need cable TV, but a modern smart TV with Netflix would have been nice for relaxing in the evenings.
