OYO Hotel Macedo

The bathroom was my main concern. It has no grab bars and the floor is slippery, so it could be dangerous even for someone without mobility issues. I was there with my grandmother, and this isn't a place suited to reduced mobility. For the two days I stayed, things were more or less okay since it was such a short visit. I also want the original owner to return my deposit. I was charged a different amount on arrival because the place had changed ownership and name, and I'm filing a complaint through the booking agency.

On my birthday, I arrived to find the receptionist saying they no longer worked with Decolar. My reservation still showed as confirmed in the Descolar app, and she checked the computer and saw everything under my name. The owner had told them not to accept Decolar customers, though, and said I'd have to pay again at the desk. I called the police and was advised to file a report at the station and then take legal action against them. This was the worst experience I've had, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I booked through BOOKING, but when I arrived they charged me separately, saying they no longer had an agreement with the booking site. The next day the site charged me too, claiming I hadn't shown up for my reservation, so I paid twice to sleep in a terrible room. It was the worst of the 349 hotels I've stayed in. The room photos don't show how it really was: the door and bathroom door were broken, the bathroom light was out, the window wouldn't open, the internet and phone didn't work, and the TV signal was damaged. The remote was broken too, the shower was dirty and barely had any water, there was no soap or shampoo, and no minibar. Just garbage.

The place was ugly, old, and chaotic, and the service was poor. I booked through booking, then they charged me extra when I arrived, saying they didn't work with the app. I ended up being charged twice, by the app and by the hotel. When I questioned the receptionist, she curtly told me to take it up with booking. They wrote out a receipt by hand with a different name and address, and said my name was ugly.
