Pestana Sao Paulo Hotel

A pool was the one thing I missed here. Otherwise, it's a nice, quiet hotel, with good food at the restaurant and a nice breakfast.

Everyone on staff was super friendly, especially Charlie. He made a real effort to speak with us in English, which I appreciated, and his service was very professional. I had a really great stay at the Pestana and the accommodations were excellent. Thank you!

Someone came into my room twice within 24 hours. They knocked and immediately walked in without saying anything. That's completely unacceptable. They should announce themselves, like “room service” or “reception,” then wait for the guest to open the door. The internet reaches only about 20 Mbps at most, which is very slow for video calls. It was 15 degrees outside and 22 in the hotel, with no heating on. After a long flight, I turned on the heating on the display, but woke up to a room at 18 degrees. I asked reception to fix it. An older man said he'd come check or send someone, but about an hour later a housekeeper brought an extra blanket to my door. I had to go back and ask if that was the solution. I eventually figured out myself that turning the ventilation completely off helped. It's crazy to be cold all the time in a four-star hotel. I booked a double room but got a twin instead. The bathroom looks nice at first, with lots of marble, but closer up the metal parts are rusty and there are black spots all over the corners. It clearly hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in a long time. The clothesline above the tub was black at both ends, like mold, and should have been replaced ages ago.

Luan and Ricardo at the front desk were always available when I had questions or wanted information about the city, and did their best to make my stay memorable. Pestana Hotel is conveniently close to Avenida Paulista and other important sights. I had a great stay and would definitely come back.
