Pousada Imigrantes Jabaquara

The location is nice, close to Jabaquara terminal.

This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve ever had. Two friends and I stayed at this pousada during CCXP 2018, and problems started with the booking. We got in touch months ahead and were told to make the reservation one month before our stay. When there were 30 days left, we contacted them again and were told bookings would open in the second half of the month, so we made a pre-reservation. When it was time to confirm, we were quoted different prices and offered different accommodations from what that pre-reservation covered. The place was in poor condition, with no sound insulation and disappointing cleanliness. There was a cockroach in our room. It had a fan and two bunk beds, and the bathroom was odd and full of damp patches. You could hear everything said in the other room through the bathroom window. The old furniture and uncomfortable beds didn’t help, and the bedding made me itch. The TV was old, the net channels didn’t work, and the layout was bizarre, with a step to get out of the bathroom. There was no accessibility at all for wheelchair users. There’s no food service, though guests can use the kitchenette. The dishes and cutlery weren’t clean, and there wasn’t even dish soap by the sink for us to wash them ourselves. Our room wasn’t cleaned until two days after we arrived, and they left the window open. There was no security. Guests had to close the pousada’s door and gate themselves. There wasn’t even a reception desk. The owner left during the night shift and came back at who knows what time. We didn’t see her again after check-in, and there was no assistance when we needed it. The shower in our room broke three times. Each time someone showered, the next person had to take a cold shower. The one possible advantage was the location for anyone needing to stay near São Paulo Expo. Unfortunately, it was the only place nearby we could find for those dates. The price wasn’t a plus either, since it wasn’t even that cheap considering how uncomfortable the stay was. Checkout was bad and didn’t feel secure: no one was at reception, and we had to leave the key in the mailbox to get out. I hope your stay is better than ours.

The rooms are clean, and the shared spaces are cozy and well organized. The kitchen has utensils for making quick meals. Pousada is excellent and very well located, close to Jabaquara metro and Expo Imigrantes. I stayed here a few years ago, and it has changed completely. It’s been fully revitalized, including a change in management.

The room was comfortable and basic, with its own bathroom, towels, and bedding. Breakfast is included through an arrangement with the bakery next door. The place could use better upkeep and cleaning, though the price feels reasonable for what you get.
