The food quality doesn’t come close to matching the prices, which are well above the usual São Paulo level. There’s little variety on the menu, and the service is poor. I’ve complained several times, but nothing has really improved. The pool is tiny, more like a bathtub, and I’ve never managed to use it because the line is too long. The gym is missing essential equipment and machines. With such a high monthly fee, this doesn’t live up to the luxury standard you’d expect.
I travel a lot for work and can be incredibly fussy, but this place exceeded my expectations. Even the small room I’m staying in is huge and beautifully designed. The food is delicious, the staff are lovely, kind, and helpful, and the decor is amazing. They’ve thought of every detail. I honestly don’t know how to praise this hotel enough. If you’re considering a stay, do it.
The house is gorgeous, and so are the rooms and the gym, even though the gym isn’t very large. Its location next to Metta Lab is great, and Vitor at the front was kind and attentive throughout all four nights. I loved the place, but bedtime was the problem: the DJ was unbelievably loud every night. It usually stopped at midnight, though on Friday it went until 2am. Breakfast was just okay and could improve a lot. I had one lunch entree while I was there, and that was good.
It’s hard to sleep here. The central air sounds like heavy machinery, there’s dance music until 2 am, and traffic signals on the street below. The building itself is beautiful and in a prime location, but the rooms are noisy and the service was among the worst I’ve had at a hotel in this price range. I’ve heard it used to be good. Maybe SoHo House’s financial troubles and near bankruptcy have affected it. There are plenty of better, cheaper choices nearby.
I’m talking about the Soho House club, not the hotel, though I’ve heard bad reviews of that too. It feels like a socialite club for the newly rich. I joined hoping to meet people after living abroad for 10 years, but mostly used it for the gym because it was near my coworking area, and sometimes brought friends for dinner or the pool. There was never enough space for chairs by the pool, so you basically had to get in and stay there. The gym had no changing area or bathrooms, and they didn’t add more machines or expand it until I’d been a member for nine months. I finally cancelled after an employee berated me for talking to an influencer I shared a mutual friend with. She said the approach was unwanted, though it wasn’t, then suspended my account and expected me to keep paying. I said I’d cancel and sue if they pursued payment. The only nice thing is the decor. The food is horrible, and I’d rate the service, location, and experience 0/5.
