The service and room are good. My only complaint is the late check-in time, 3 p.m.

The hotel could have been merely bad, but it manages to be absolutely awful by the end! I travel a lot and stay in plenty of hotels. I’m not fussy, and for a short trip like this one I’m fine with a basic place. But this hotel gets everything wrong. Service was terrible. The room key card didn’t work, and when I asked for another, they said they didn’t have one. I asked to change rooms and was told all the cards were like that. Every time we went out, we had to tell the receptionist when we returned, go upstairs, and wait for him to bring his own card to open the door. At that point reception was left unattended, so anyone arriving would be stuck outside until the employee came back to his post. The elevator is awful and badly maintained. It feels like it could fall at any moment. The air conditioner is noisy, though it does reach the temperature you set. The Wi-Fi is awful too, despite the hotel advertising it. During the three days I stayed, I’d connect and then lose it seconds later. After countless tries, I realized I had to use mobile data if I wanted internet. If you need a connection, forget this hotel. Breakfast is limited, but not the worst. I’ve concluded there are better, cheaper hotels in the area. I won’t stay here again or recommend it. This isn’t just a rant from someone with nothing better to do. I’m sharing it as a warning because all these problems together made the trip worse.

I booked Hotel Uniclass for a weekend in São Paulo to attend a nearby event, so its location was the main reason I chose it. I’ve stayed in the city at everything from luxury chains to very modest hotels, and none gave me an experience as bad as this one. Calling it a hotel is absurd. At best, it’s a hostel. The reception and service were awful. Staff were rude, indifferent, and unprepared, and couldn’t handle even basic guest requests. The electronic room keys didn’t work, so whenever you came back you had to wait for the receptionist to decide to take the elevator and open your room manually. The room was run-down and smelled of mold. The bathroom was cramped, the tap sprayed water onto the wall, and the shower stall was tiny. If you’re a bigger person, you won’t fit, seriously. The drain was clogged and smelled like sewage. The air conditioner barely worked, more like an air cooler; the noise when switched on was almost all it did. The stained towels smelled horrible and were disgusting to use. The Wi-Fi was advertised as available but was impossible to connect to or use. I paid for it and had to rely on mobile data. Breakfast was the only decent thing, nothing special but adequate as a basic meal. I don’t recommend Hotel Uniclass Centro to anyone. Thanks to this company, I had the most uncomfortable weekend of my life in São Paulo. They didn’t provide even a basic level of comfort for guests.
