They let me into my room at 11:30 am, even though I expected to leave my bag and come back after lunch. On my last day, I also got to stay a little past checkout for a small charge because my flight was in the evening. I really appreciated that flexibility. The room and bed were clean and comfortable, despite some worn edges, and the air conditioning in my room cooled it to 18°C. The location felt safe, with Faria Lima metro station about a brisk five-minute walk away. There are downsides: noise from both inside and outside, no elevator, and front desk staff who weren't rude but weren't especially friendly either. If you don't speak Portuguese, have Google Translate or ChatGPT ready.

The shower was pleasant, and a few staff members were kind and accommodating, but that couldn't make up for the place and service overall. I wouldn't stay here again. When we arrived at 8 am, a very unfriendly woman at the front desk told us to return around midday for check-in. We could leave our bags behind the desk, but that felt sketchy, and there was no bellman. The place feels more like a motel than a hotel, and walking in was honestly scary. It's extremely old and badly in need of renovation. My air conditioning didn't work. The infrastructure is poor, the internet is weak, and Netflix wouldn't work. They have flat-screen TVs but no paid TV, and the connection was too bad to watch anything through apps. No one came by for days to change the sheets or towels or take out the trash. The phone didn't work either, and the furniture was so old it was hard to believe. I wasn't told whether room service was available, and I wasn't keen to try it anyway. They seem to have put in new shower heads, at least. To me, the basic things a hotel should provide were missing. Just avoid it.

The room is much larger than what I've had at other hotels, and the price is better too. It's clean, has good amenities, and check-in was easy. I just got here and already think it's awesome. Even the street noise helps me sleep. I'd recommend this hotel big time.

For what they charge, it's a really good place, and the hotel provides what it says it will. The building is very old, though, and could use some renovation and new air conditioners.
