Hotel Pousada Cavalo Marinho

Just okay.

The place has a rustic feel and works well for families, kids, and younger guests, with plenty of space. We found it comfortable, and parking felt secure. Breakfast was tasty, and utensils, cups, and plates were available. They also had precautions in place against insects, though we didn’t see any. The service was excellent, from the room cleaning to the staff, so I won’t single anyone out.

The breakfast was simple and had little variety, though it tasted good. The staff were polite and helpful, but the cleanliness was disappointing and I had to ask for the room to be cleaned again. The worn bed and bath linens smelled, so I also had to request fresh ones. What upset me most was the small carp pond. The fish seemed to be suffering from a lack of oxygen, which was heartbreaking. We reported it and were told they’d look into it.

We spent a weekend here and thought the price was good for what you get. It was nice that they accept pets without a lot of rules. Breakfast had breads, eggs, fruit, and several drinks. The decor is rustic, and the staff were attentive.
