Pousada Bosque Toque Toque B&B

The standout for me was Érica, who was consistently polite and very attentive. The rest of the stay was a real letdown, and I wouldn't recommend this pousada if you're after peace, rest, or welcoming service. Our room was basic, smelled strongly of mildew, and didn't seem very clean. Breakfast was poor, too. There are places in the area at the same price that offer more comfort, quiet, and attention to guests. Three rooms sit right beside the highway, and ours was one of them. Trucks and motorcycles went by all night. We couldn't rest and only managed to sleep from midnight until 4 a.m. After that first night, we asked the person in charge to cancel the rest of our stay and refund us so we could find somewhere else. He was curt and showed no empathy, saying the pousada being beside the road “was no secret.” He could have kept the Booking fee and returned the rest, which would have been the least he could do, but he chose not to help at all.

We spent three days here and found it so welcoming and cozy. There are lovely little corners for anyone who really wants to relax, read a good book, and enjoy the beach at Calhetas. Getting to that beach can be awkward, especially by car, but from the pousada it's an easy five-minute walk. Breakfast was simple but tasty. We'll definitely be back!

It's a simple, rustic place, not a luxury stay, and that's not what it's trying to be. In the low season when we visited, it was good value for money. We found it easy to communicate with Emilio and Erica, and Erica provided excellent service. Just know that the pousada is right beside the road, so the standard room gets quite a bit of traffic noise.

Erica was proactive, very attentive, and always ready to help us find the beaches. The room had a mildew smell, though, and the pool was dirty. The place wasn't very clean, which seemed related to being surrounded by nature.
