The breakfast was very good, and the lounge area beside the pool was pleasant. The pousada has a modern design and sits right by the beach. Our room was nicely decorated, though on the side of the building with only a partial ocean view, so I thought the price was a little high for that room. The pool isn’t heated, which matters if you want to swim around sunset or in the evening.

The staff were kind, helpful, and polite, as is often the case in Brazil. Parking is free, but there are very few spaces. Luckily, there are lots of restaurants nearby, so we only needed the car occasionally. Breakfast was included and very nice: freshly squeezed juice, coffee, tea, bread, butter, marmalade, cakes, Pão de queijo, croissants, and lots of fruit. At 5 PM they also served coffee with something sweet, like cake or pudding. Our room was clean and tidy, with powerful AC, free Wi-Fi, and a decent sized TV with cable. The window looked straight onto the beach, so if sunlight wakes you up, this may not suit you. The shades weren’t blackout. We enjoyed our stay at Casatua, right on the beach, with a pool set on a concrete deck by the water.
