I've stayed in São Thomé five times, and this was the best. Everything was spotlessly clean, the place was peaceful, and the welcome was a full 10 out of 10. Breakfast was generous and varied. I recommend it without hesitation. The cleanliness was a 10 too.

We loved the location: the church is close by, with little shops and restaurants nearby, and we managed several outings on foot. Our room matched what the websites described, with a roomy bathroom, hot shower, air conditioning, soap, towels, and toilet paper. The hosts were so kind, and Luiz Miguel (the cat) was adorable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with bread, juices, ham, fresh cheese, little cakes, and fruit. We’ll definitely return to Pousada São João. It feels very family-friendly.

That view from the balcony is the highlight. It’s a great spot for enjoying the city, with welcoming hospitality and a delicious breakfast. The stairs are quite steep, which is the only downside, but they shouldn’t be a problem for anyone without mobility difficulties.

I spent a week there and felt so welcome. Juliar (the owner) and his mother are both lovely and helpful. The inn is close to the center and the main tourist spots, and breakfast was abundant and wonderful. The view was gorgeous too. I loved the stay and will definitely come back next time I’m in town!

Eight of us friends rented the apartment and had a great time there for the whole holiday. We walked to the town center every day because the location was so convenient. The owners were very attentive and helpful, breakfast was delicious each morning, and the view from the breakfast area was beautiful.
