Pousada Recanto das Aves

Really great.

The couple who looked after us were very attentive, and the place itself is beautiful. Breakfast, which we paid for separately, was simple but very good, as was lunch, which also wasn’t included in the daily rate. The downside was the chalet: it’s spacious but poorly maintained. There’s no mini fridge, the bathroom door is broken, and the bathroom floor leaks. I think it may be the seal around the toilet. The bed linens were pretty poor, and there wasn’t even soap. The pool is large, but it was a little dirty.

The room was a good size and everything was clean. The service was great, all the staff were friendly, and breakfast was simple but really tasty. I only missed having somewhere to hang clothes in the room. In the cold weather, the shower needs to be turned on just a little to get hot. Everything else was great.

We were welcomed nicely. There’s a lot of potential here for family fun, with a large green area, pool, small soccer field, and lake. At the moment, though, it needs quite a bit of maintenance. The mattresses, pillows, and doors all need replacing.
