Habitat Marajó Hostel

The owners made the stay special. They’re really friendly and keen to help. There were construction works at the hostel in July 2021, but it was still clean and super comfortable. You can rent bicycles there too. It’s a little way from the center, though still within walking distance.

The fruit trees at Habitat Marajó Hostel mean guests can help themselves to the fruit. I ate plenty of mangoes and avocados during my stay. I volunteered there for three weeks, and Rodrigo regularly hosts Worldpackers, so there are usually people around to chat with, explore with, and learn about the area from. Rodri is also a great guide. I really recommend taking tours with him if you’re going to Soure. ☺️

The hostel is simple and cozy, with clean, well-equipped rooms, Marajoara decor, and a yard full of fruit trees, which I loved. Everything was well organized, and there was plenty of information about the hostel’s routine. Rodrigo, the owner, was very attentive. I went on two tours with him, and he really knows Marajó. I was also lucky enough to meet a carimbó group from Algodoal and some wonderful people from other states. I highly recommend Habitat Marajó Hostel. Marajó is so beautiful, go visit!

I’m loving all the little details here. It’s a wonderful place, really spacious and in a great location, surrounded by nature. Fruit trees provide lovely shade, with hammocks set up around them.
