Sumaré Park Hotel

Great place.

Really good.

We had activities for both kids and adults, and my daughter loved them. Even with the hotel full, the shared area felt spacious and the pool never seemed crowded. There were always beach chairs and bungalows available, so we could choose where to sit. The room was roomy and comfortable, and the breakfast was simple but fresh and good quality. The restaurant and reception staff were lovely and attentive. I needed hot water to make a bottle for my other daughter, and the staff were always polite. The food was good and reasonably priced compared with restaurants in sao paulo. It’s a lovely spot for a quiet, sunny day, and I booked it for a relaxing weekend away. There were a couple of problems. It felt like 40 degrees outside, but the pool cooling system was running during the day, which made the water warm instead of refreshing. The pool also got dirty quickly, and I think a short cleaning break around lunchtime could have helped. In the room, the air conditioner flaps weren’t working and needed maintenance. The bathroom holder was loose, so I had to leave my shampoo and conditioner on the floor.

The location was good, and the accommodation was about what I expected. Breakfast was the letdown, with very few choices. For anyone avoiding lactose or gluten, for example, there were only two or three options, basically fruit and juice. I asked for a root vegetable or couscous option, but was told breakfast was complimentary and the hotel didn’t have to provide alternatives. I stayed five days, mentioned my dietary restriction from the first day, and they didn’t accommodate it once. I felt completely disregarded.
