Che Pepe Hostel

Really cool.

We liked how quiet and affordable Che Pepe was, and we'd happily stay there again. It's less than a two-minute walk from Pipa's shopping center. Our double room was clean, with air conditioning and an electric shower. There are also private and shared room options, a communal kitchen, and hammocks for everyone to use. The staff were always polite to us. It's not fancy, but I definitely recommend it if you're after a calm, inexpensive place.

The biggest issue was how cramped the room felt. The website showed beds side by side, but ours had bunk beds and two extra beds beyond the stated limit. The lockers also had no backs and were simply set against the wall. At night, music from reception was a bit bothersome, and people who lived or worked at the hostel left underwear hanging in the shared bathroom areas. I had planned to stay two nights, but left after one and went somewhere else.

The location was great, but the air conditioning and fan in the room my boyfriend and I stayed in were both broken. People at the hostel also kept making noise until 3 a.m.
