Pousada Deixa Acontecer

We spent two nights at Pousada Deixa Aconter and had a great time. The breakfast was tasty with a good range of options, and Federico and the staff were welcoming and happy to help with whatever we needed.

I stayed here three months ago with family. The booking wasn’t under my name, but I was among the guests. The owner himself was very attentive, and we had no complaint about him personally. The accommodation needs a lot of improvement, though: the towels smelled as if they hadn’t been washed properly, and the air conditioning didn’t cool the room at all, so we slept in the heat. This is meant as constructive criticism.

The rooms are simple, but they were comfortable enough for a peaceful night in Pipa. The owners were friendly and easy to reach, since they live across from the inn, and the breakfast was basic but complete, with different breads, cheese, ham, one cake option, and various drinks. There weren’t as many cakes and savory snacks as at a large hotel, but that wasn’t a problem for me. I stayed for two nights in the second week of April, and the place was full despite it being low season. The owners’ warmth, the breakfast, and the straightforward rooms seem to be big reasons why. If I get the chance to visit Pipa again, I know where I’ll stay.

The room was missing some basics: no chair, a TV that didn’t work, and just one tiny bin for two people. The breakfast was poorly made too. The scrambled eggs were awful on the days I stayed, the French bread was stale, and the hot dog sauce and cake weren’t good either. Even simple things deserve care. A fresh five-cent roll costs two reais, and it felt like the cooking needed someone who knew what they were doing. These are small things that could be fixed.
