The beautiful views, friendly staff, and good internet were real positives, but this stay didn’t work for us. We booked a two-week holiday with my wife and my parents-in-law, then found the walk to the place was five times farther than advertised and too difficult for my frail in-laws. At high tide the sea was also extremely loud, which is a problem if, like me, you were counting on making work video calls. The place felt worn down too, with broken tiles and makeshift structures all over. I can see how that might be part of the charm for some, but we expected more comfort. On the first day, we spoke to management to ask if they could make some kind of arrangement. It was clearly not for us, since our parents couldn’t manage the walk and the stay wasn’t going to work. I felt that getting at least half our money back would have been fair. They wouldn’t discuss it and pointed to their message saying they don’t give refunds. It’s management’s unfriendly response that made me leave a one-star review.

The rooms are simple but lovely, and this pousada is right on the beach. I spent four nights there and wished I could have stayed longer. It was one of the best beach hotels I’ve stayed in, maybe the best. Great location, good food, and nice staff. Thanks to Pia, Manuel, and the whole team!

I stopped by the beachfront bar for a few drinks during the day at high tide. It’s beautiful and tucked away, with good service and beer. A hidden gem.

We tried a couple of the vegetarian dishes and liked both. The prices seemed fair for the location, and it’s a lovely place to unwind over a meal or a drink.

The staff were polite, which was the one good part of my stay. I booked two nights but left partway through the first day. The place was far from calm: I could hear people talking in other rooms, and at one point someone was using an electric saw. My room also wasn’t very clean, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a dust allergy. There wasn’t much to do nearby, and it’s a long way from Pipa’s nicer spots. I hope they improve the place and provide the basic comfort people expect when booking a room.
