Pousada Sonho Meu

I chose this place because I only needed somewhere affordable to sleep before heading to João Pessoa early. I booked through Instagram after seeing the photos and reviews there, and paid half by Pix a month ahead. As soon as I arrived, the service was awful. I hadn't even finished putting my bags down before someone stood outside my room insisting I pay the other half right then, saying they wouldn't move from the doorway until they got the R$80,00. The bathroom shown in the photos, with a glass shower and granite-style sink, was nothing like ours. It smelled awful, had mildew on the walls, and there was a cockroach in the shower. The sheets were dingy, the pillows smelled musty, and the mattresses were so thin I could feel the bed base. I didn't try the minibar or TV. The air conditioning worked, though it didn't cool much. The location is the one real plus, since you can walk to everything in the center.

The place is basic, and the room wasn't comfortable. The bathroom sink was loose and the shower didn't work properly, so even taking a simple shower was a whole ordeal. The only good part was breakfast, served by a very friendly and attentive woman.

The location is great, but the inn is badly neglected and needs a lot of improvement. The sheets and pillows were dirty and hadn't been washed. The bathroom smelled rotten, the ceiling kept dropping sand, and the room smelled like cat feces. There was nowhere to climb out of the pool without hurting your feet. To top it off, an employee talked badly about the boss to guests.

It's right in the center, which makes how terrible the place was such a shame. I paid 595,35 for 2 nights and feel like I threw that money away. The pillows were full of mites, everything was moldy, there were cockroaches, and both the electric shower and air conditioning were broken. The place was filthy and the service was nonexistent. It felt completely disrespectful to guests, and I'm going to try every way I can to get my money back. I got sick and still am. It felt like a horror movie, completely unsanitary. It could have been something good, but it was awful. These pictures show what it was really like.
