The guy looking after the place was kind, and there’s lots of greenery, a great pool, and you can walk to Praia do Amor. But the place feels neglected, as if it’s just collecting nightly fees without proper management. There were too many problems for the stay to feel restful, especially given the high price. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a worry-free night after enjoying the town and beach. They asked me to send the full room cost upfront by Pix, which gave me no security, even though Booking.com takes a card as a guarantee. That already seemed strange. The contact number they provided took over five hours of repeated calls before anyone answered. The chalets are old and seem poorly maintained, with a strong musty, old-stuff smell. The bathroom walls were stained, which could be a problem for anyone with allergies. The pillows had only covers, no pillowcases, and there was no soap. On arrival, I was told the air conditioner remote had been misplaced in another room, and the one there didn’t work. From the reviews, it seemed the air conditioning issue happens often. Our neighboring guests played loud music at 7:30 in the morning and weren’t warned by management. When I woke up, there was no water in the room at all. I managed to reach the person in charge, but had to turn on the pump myself by following his instructions. One or two small issues are easy to overlook, but this was a string of stressful situations. The amount charged was very high for such an unpleasant experience.

We arrived before check-in time and there was nobody to let us in. We waited an hour for the caretaker. The room smelled musty, and the double bed was actually two beds pushed together. There was no soap in the bathroom and the water flow was weak. The room was clean when we arrived, but it wasn’t cleaned again during our stay. The garden was lovely and well kept, but the private parking they advertised was really just on the street, even though they said it was safe. When we left early, no one was there to receive us either, so we left the key in the kitchen. Cheap can end up costing you more. Pay a little extra and avoid this inn.

I don’t understand how this inn has such a high rating. The room stank strongly of mold, so anyone with allergies or allergic rhinitis should absolutely not stay here. There seems to be no management. We booked through Booking.com and thought everything was settled, then they told us we had to pay by Pix. We called about ten times before finally reaching someone. If we’d needed help with something urgent, we’d have been in trouble. Other guests played loud music by the pool on Saturday, which was fine, but at 8 on Sunday morning they turned it up again with songs about waking everyone up. A well-managed place wouldn’t allow that to disturb other guests at that hour. We came here to rest. Then we woke up to find there wasn’t even water to brush our teeth. We called the employee and learned someone had to turn on a pump. Just one problem after another. I’ll never come back.
