Pousada Anjos Astrais

We came as a group of 15 from a choir that performed at a festival in a neighboring town. The inn is simple, pretty, comfortable, and well run. Some of the women didn’t like their room on the ground floor, so they asked to move upstairs, where it was airier, and were happy with the change. Breakfast was very good, especially the wonderful pão de queijo, fresh orange juice, and tasty cakes and bread. The service felt warm and family-like, and Dudu is a lovely person. The location is good too, with walking access to both the center and the train station.

The inn is very basic, but its best feature is the location. You can walk to the city's main attractions, and it’s quick to reach places that require a car. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of variety and tasty Minas specialties. The team was attentive and made us feel welcome. There were several downsides: the rooms weren’t clean, the bathroom smelled very bad, the shower didn’t get properly hot, the spaces were small, and the team made a lot of noise in the morning while preparing breakfast. They don’t accept debit or credit cards.

It’s a simple, cozy, comforting, family-style place where guests can feel at ease. I really liked the service from Rosi, Daniele, and Dudu, and the breakfast was very good. The value for money is great, and the inn is well located, about a five-minute walk from the center and very close to Largo das Forras, where everything happens. I’ll definitely return and recommend it.
