Pousada Padre Toledo

The staff were extremely friendly, and breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a small room, but the view of the mountains was fantastic, facing Rua Direita. The pousada is well located in a comfortable old mansion. Right next door, Taberna Padre Toledo serves tasty chicken in brown sauce, and the Padre Toledo bakery has delicious orange cake and other treats. We loved it.

I booked a room through Booking just now, but after finishing the process I got an error and the charge went through on my card. I tried calling the pousada and nobody answered. I messaged them on WhatsApp and got a “good morning.” I explained what happened and asked them to confirm the booking, but they read my messages and stopped replying. I sent a lot more messages and called again, with no response. It seemed really strange. Now they don’t even read my messages anymore. I liked your response! That’s only in my head. If you’re not aware of this, I suggest checking your phone. I’ve attached a screenshot of the messages. Also, to complain to Booking I need the reservation number, but since the booking wasn’t completed, there isn’t one.

Staying in this impressive 18th-century mansion gave the place a special feel. The rooms were good, breakfast was delicious, and service was very courteous. The location is amazing too.
