We’ve stayed at Pousada Pé da Serra three times now, and leaving is still the hard part. Waking up to birdsong and the smell of the countryside is such a simple pleasure, but it really refreshes you. The welcome is impeccable, and breakfast has the homemade Minas Gerais touches we love, warm cheese bread and other treats made with care. Tiradentes feels even more special from this cozy place close to nature. It’s become our regular retreat.

The rooms were very clean and well cared for. The showers worked great in every bathroom, the air conditioning cooled the rooms well, and the mattresses were comfortable. The owner and all the staff deserve praise for being so attentive and welcoming. One thing to be aware of: the larger house has a lot of religious images, which could make some guests uncomfortable since not everyone is Catholic. Otherwise, it’s an excellent guesthouse.
