Pousada Santo Expedito

A clean, simple place with a really kind host.

I stayed at the pousada from January 7 to 10, 2026. It’s simple but generally adequate. The street is very busy, though, and there was a lot of motorcycle noise all the time. There were insects in the bathroom, which bothered me, though I can understand that in the heat of that season. The main problem came after checkout. I left a valuable pair of sneakers in the room and contacted the owner, Sr. Igor, on WhatsApp the same day. He confirmed they were there and said he would send them, but he was very busy and didn’t know when he could get to the post office. I haven’t been able to reach him since. More than three weeks have passed, despite many messages and calls, which went unanswered or were sometimes declined. I gave him my address and offered to pay for shipping and even an inconvenience fee, but got no response. I still haven’t received the shoes or any reply. It was extremely frustrating, and I’d warn other guests to be careful if they leave anything behind.

Igor was a perfect host, full of tips about places to visit, and the service felt very personal and family-like. The pousada is about 1.1 km from the centre, easy to reach, and the walk feels safe and straightforward. Our room was spacious, with a good hot shower and a comfortable bed. The sheets smelled fresh and were clean. Breakfast was complete, and there was also afternoon coffee and tea with cake made by Igor’s father. Congratulations to everyone for treating guests with such care. I recommend this pousada for its price, quality, service, simplicity, and warmth.

The rooms were clean and airy, the bedding was fresh and smelled nice, and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of variety and fresh cheese bread baked right then. Igor and his family gave us great service, and everyone looked after us so well. Well done to all of them!
