The desserts and coffee were lovely, and lunch was a good way to sample lots of dishes. We ate here several times during our stay in Trancoso, coming for the self-service lunch and paying by weight. There was a good choice of cooked vegetables, which can be hard to find on Brazilian menus.

In 40 years, I’ve never had worse service. They ignore you, get orders wrong, serve only part of your table, and then take your food to other people. Avoid this place at all costs. Please.

The portions were so generous that I took home what I couldn’t finish and ate it the next day. The moqueca mixta is for two, but I got three days out of it. I also had bife parmigiana and a salad on one visit, and the regional moqueca on another. Everything was really, really tasty, including the caipirinhas. Try the cocoa one and the one with picolé. The service was lovely and the atmosphere at the quadrado was great. I recommend it!

A little culinary gem in Trancoso, with friendly staff. Kaue served us, and the dishes were simple, tasty, and well prepared. The grilled fish and the rice with octopus were delicious. Be sure to get a caipirinha!

We waited 45 minutes without seeing our food or even drinks, and when we asked, all we got were shrugs. A large table of Brazilians arrived after us and had drinks within five minutes. Before that, it took 10 minutes and a lot of effort just to get the waiter to take our order, and he did so reluctantly. We left. This was the worst restaurant experience we’ve had in Brazil so far, and it felt xenophobic. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.
